Rage Against the Machine Gitarrist Tom Morello kommt im Juni für eine exklusive Clubshow live nach Köln. Sichert euch eure Tickets für das Tom Morello Konzert in der Live Music Hall in Köln ab Donnerstag, den 11. April um 10 Uhr hier im offiziellen Ticketmaster Presale.

Als Gitarrist, Sänger und Aktivist gibt es für Tom Morello keine Grenzen. Mit seinen Bands Rage Against The Machine und Audioslave schrieb er Rockgeschichte und landete wohlverdient auf Platz 18 der berüchtigten Rolling Stone Liste der „100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time“. Darüber hinaus spielte er für Bruce Springsteen, Prophets Of Rage und andere Stars und gründete mit System Of A Down Sänger Serj Tankian die Axis Of Justice: Eine Gruppe, in der sie Musiker, Musikfans und politische Organisationen zusammenbringen, um gemeinsam für soziale Gerechtigkeit zu kämpfen. 2023 bekam er den Music Will „Humanitarian of the Year“ Award für sein politisches Engagement und wurde Teil der Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Mit über 30 Millionen verkauften Alben, etlichen Platin-Auszeichnungen und Grammy Awards zählt er zu den erfolgreichsten und einflussreichsten Rockmusikern und Agitatoren seiner Generation. Im Juni wird Tom Morello in intimer Clubatmosphäre in der Kölner Live Music Hall exklusiv live zu erleben sein.

Thomas Baptist Morello wird 1964 als Kind einer Lehrerin und eines kenianischen Guerilla-Kämpfers und Revolutionärs geboren. Bereits früh erlangt er ein politisches Bewusstsein, das er später in seine Musik einfließen lässt. Mit 13 Jahren bekam er seine erste Gitarre und gründete seine erste Band. Ab 1982 studierte Tom Morello Politikwissenschaft an der Harvard University, die er 1986 mit einem Bachelorabschluss verließ. Anschließend zog er nach Los Angeles und lernte Tool Bassist Adam Jones kennen, mit dem er die Band Electric Sheep gründete. 1991 gründete er mit Zack de la Rocha, Brad Wilk und Tim Commerford die Band Rage Against The Machine, mit der er zwischen 1992 und 2003 sechs Alben veröffentlicht. Ihr Song „Killing In The Name Of“ vom 1992 veröffentlichten „Selftitled“ Album wird zu einem absoluten Welthit und versteht sich auch heute noch als aktuelle anti-rassistische Kritik am US-amerikanischen Staatsapparat. Von 2001 bis 2007 veröffentlicht er mit Audioslave drei Alben, bevor RATM ihre erste Reunion-Tour spielten und sich Tom Morello seinem Folk-Soloprojekt The Nightwatchman widmete. Ab 2018 fokussierte er weiter auf seine Solokarriere als Gitarrist und veröffentlichte sein Debütalbum „The Atlas Underground“, auf das 2020 mit „Comandante“ bereits das nächste Album folgte. Ein Jahr später veröffentlichte er mit „The Atlas Underground Fire“ und „The Atlas Underground Flood“ zwei weitere Alben. Hierfür holte er sich mit Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Bring Me The Horizon, Chris Stapleton, Kirk Hammett, Idles und vielen weiteren Features prominente Unterstützung. Aber auch als Gastmusiker bleibt Tom Morello am Zahn der Zeit, wie sein Feature auf der Måneskin Single „Gossip“ unter Beweis stellt. Sein einzigartiger Gitarrensound ist dabei in allen Fällen noch immer so energetisch und atemberaubend wie sein unermüdliches politisches Engagement.
