The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, dass sich seit seinen ersten Anfängen vor 31 Jahren als Außenseiter mit den “komischen” Instrumenten verstand, hat sich inzwischen zu einer international renommierten Institution entwickelt. Auf der Bühne tragen sie alle formelle Abendkleidung und jeweils eine Ukulele in verschiedenen Größen und Stimmungen, jeder singt, und zusammen hinterlassen sie Standing Ovations und sprachlose Menschen.
Die Show des Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain ist ein Ritt durch alle Genre, von Pop, Rock, Punk, über Folk, Jazz und Oldies bis hin zur Klassik. Virtuos, lustig und immer wieder überraschend, mit der angemessenen Priese an britischem Humor, ist es schier unmöglich, sich dem Charme dieser acht Musiker zu entziehen. Jeder von ihnen hat seine eigene, unverwechselbare Persönlichkeit, seine ganz besondere Art, Songs zu interpretieren, und die Mischung dieser individuellen Musiker, ihre Interaktion untereinander, macht das Ganze zu einem Abend voller musikalischer Überraschungen und menschlicher Wärme.
