Soulmusik ist ohne sie einfach undenkbar. Mit Klassikern wie „Baby I Need Your Loving“, „I Can't Help Myself“ und „What Is A Man“ machten sich die Four Tops unsterblich. 1953 von Renaldo Benson (genannt „Obie“), Abdul Fakir (genannt „Duke“), Lawrence Payton und Levi Stubbs gegründet, veröffentlichten sie seitdem mehr als 30 Alben. Sie sind auf den Einspielungen von Aretha Franklin und Ken G im Background zu hören, begleiteten Billy Eckstine bei seinen Touren und traten unter anderem im Vorprogramm von Count Basie und Brook Benton auf. 1990 folgte die Aufnahme der legendären Gesangs-Combo in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Als Lawrence Payton 1997 starb, hatte die Gruppe 45 Jahre ohne einen einzigen Besetzungswechsel zusammen gesungen. Für ein exklusives Four Tops Konzert besucht die Soul-Sensation Deutschland.
