Del Water Gap is the solo project of S. Holden Jaffe — a Brooklyn-based musician and producer who achieved international recognition in 2021 with his breakout single “Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat” from his self-titled debut album Del Water Gap. Since its release, he has toured extensively across North America and Europe, released a second album, and performed at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, and All Things Go. He has also shared the stage with artists such as Arlo Parks, Maggie Rogers, Jeremy Zucker, girl in red, Halsey, and Niall Horan. In 2026, the 32-year-old musician will return for a headlining tour, bringing his new album Chasing the Chimera to Berlin’s Lido and Cologne’s Luxor for two intimate shows.

The Delaware Water Gap — a scenic valley along the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania where the Delaware River cuts through the Appalachians — inspired both the name and the spirit of Jaffe’s project. In 2021, Del Water Gap released his self-titled debut album, following earlier independent EPs Sleeping (2014) and 1 (646) 943 2672 (2017). After gaining attention with the single High Tops in 2017 and signing with Terrible Records, he released the EPs Don’t Get Dark and Alive from Fresno in 2019. His 2020 singles Ode to a Conversation Stuck in Your Throat and Mariposa (via Atlantic Records) went viral on Instagram during the pandemic, leading to a deal with Mom + Pop Music.

The 2021 debut Del Water Gap featured standout tracks like Better Than I Know Myself, Sorry I Am, and Perfume. His 2023 follow-up, I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet, included fan favorite All We Ever Do Is Talk. After touring North America, the UK, and Europe in 2023 and 2024, Jaffe began work on his next chapter. Following performances at Reading & Leeds and Lollapalooza in summer 2025, Del Water Gap released the single How To Live, followed by Marigolds in September — the latter announcing his upcoming album Chasing the Chimera, out November 7, 2025.
