- approaching from Berlin / Leipzig exit the motorway A 9 at junction Hermsdorfer Kreuz, follow the A 4 direction Frankfurt until junction Erfurt (follow the signs "Messe" from here), continue on A 71 direction Erfurt
- from Hamburg / Hannover / Kassel take motorway A 7 until junction Kirchheimer Dreieck, follow A 4 direction Dresden until junction Erfurt (follow the signs "Messe" from here), continue on A 71 direction Erfurt

From the West:
- from Frankfurt/M. (A 5), Coal Area (A 44)up to motorway A 7 at junction Kirchheimer Dreieck. Follow A 4 direction Dresden until junction Erfurt (follow the signs "Messe" from here), continue on A 71 direction Erfurt

From the South:
- from Munich / Nuremberg take A 73 direction Bamberg up to junction 20, Autobahndreieck Suhl. Follow the A 71 direction Erfurt and exit at #11 Erfurt-Bindersleben in direction Flughafen(airport) / Messe
- from Stuttgart / Würzburg take A 7 until junction Dreieck Schweinfurt, continue on the A 70 up to Werntal junction and then on the A 71 direction Erfurt (follow the signs "Messe" from here).

From the East:
- from Dresden/Chemnitz take the A 4 direction Frankfurt until motorway junction Erfurt (follow the signs "Messe" from here), continue on A 71 direction Erfurt.

Light Rail connection Messe Erfurt (fair)
Erfurt Fair has its own light rail stop ensuring a fast and direct link into the city. Line 2 departs every 10 minutes from the 'Anger' linking the bustling heart of the city with the fair. Line 7 is connecting the fair with the central station - this service provided on special occasions only.

Park and ride facilities are located directly at the fair, providing access to the light rail system. Also change here for bus connections to the western outskirts of Erfurt.
