Venue Details
Admiralspalast Berlin
Friedrichstr. 101, 10117 Berlin
Opened on April 20th 1911, the Admiralspalast on Berlin's Friedrichstraße has been characterized by over 100 years - history that hardly any other cultural building within the German capital can call its own. Today, the event location is still one of Berlin's most popular venues when it comes to first-class stage entertainment. With its special atmosphere situated somewhere between tradition and modernism, the Admiralspalast provides entertainment in three halls: the great, magnificent theater featuring theatrical performances, galas and pop concerts, the Studio on the fourth floor, mostly serving as a location for readings and comedy shows, as well as the F101, also designed for smaller, more cozy events.

About the Admiralspalast:
The current Admiralspalast (translated "The Admiral's Palace) opened in 1911 and is amongst the few venues which survived World War II. Another building called the Admiralsgartenbad - an elegant bathhouse - previously occupied that location in the late 1800's but in 1910 the Admiralsgartenbad was demolished to make way for a four-storey venue with ice skating rinks and restaurants.
In its early years the Admiralspalast played host to ice skating and ballet, bowling and cinema screenings. The venue famously hosted an ice ballet which was incredibly popular, but the ice rink was transformed into a theatre in 1922. After the war the theatre evolved to host Revue shows. Revue peaked in popularity between 1920 and 1932 and towards the end of this period revue shows also featured films which the Admiralspalast was well-suited. After the war the Berlin State Opera used the Admiralspalast as its home until 1955.
The Admiralspalast continued to show revues and operettas until it closed in 1997 only to reopen in 2006 in the form we know it today.
