"auch wenn’s uns morgen nicht mehr gibt” — with this enigmatic title, TJARK announces his debut album, marking the end of the first, exciting chapter of his young career.

At just 21 years old, the newcomer has already achieved remarkable milestones: millions of streams, a first EP, and two tours across Germany, where he brought his touching mix of indie-pop, folk, and urban sounds to the stage.

Now, TJARK is ready for the next phase — one in which he frees himself from the expectations of others, and his own. Leaving the big city behind, he’s traded Hamburg’s nightlife for the calm and charm of his rural hometown in Brandenburg. Instead of late nights in the Kiez, he now enjoys the quiet of the countryside — and through that supposed step back, he’s taken two forward.

“In 2024, we played a ton of festivals and support shows. So earlier this year, I decided to move back home for more peace and quiet — and that was such an important step. Most of the songs were written and produced here, many with close friends — and this environment had a huge influence on the album.”

It wasn’t just city life that TJARK shut out, but also the constant questions from fans about new music. Instead, he retreated almost completely for three months, zooming out to gain perspective on himself and his art.

“For the first time in two years, I was able to clearly separate myself as a person from TJARK the artist — and that was really refreshing. I allowed myself to ask: regardless of what I’ve released so far, what do I really want to do next? What style do I want to produce in, what themes do I want to explore, and how can I make even better songs?”

The result of that intense process is “auch wenn’s uns morgen nicht mehr gibt”. The title may sound profound, but it’s not a conceptual or overthought record — it’s one that grew naturally and freely. That sense of openness is also reflected in its first single, “keinen namen”.

The song captures a “situationship” where everything is still undefined: no pet names, no promises, no future plans — just the present moment, echoing the album’s theme. TJARK sings:

“Wenn mich jemand fragt, sag ich / Ich hab noch keinen Namen für dich / Und glaub mir, ich erwarte nichts / Ich hab noch keinen Plan wie ich / dich frag, was bei uns Phase ist / denn ich hab noch keinen Namen für dich.”

Musically, the song blends gentle folk acoustics with an uplifting, stormy energy.

“It’s really important to me that my music works live with my band — that’s what I keep in mind when creating. I want to go back to basics: making music with other people in one room, together and in real time. That’s exactly how we recorded ‘keinen namen’.”

The result is a song that feels raw and alive — an unfiltered snapshot of emotion, one of many that will soon come together on “auch wenn’s uns morgen nicht mehr gibt.”
