Sofia Isella is regarded as one of the most socially critical voices of her generation, known for her profound and poetic lyrics. Ever since the release of her 2023 single “Hot Gum”, which went viral on TikTok, it has become clear that the singer combines dynamic music with powerful and unsettling imagery, unafraid to explore darker themes. She crafts her unique sound from playful art pop, emotional piano ballads, and modern pop, while also incorporating classical influences on songs like “Us and Pigs” and “Everybody Supports Women.”

At only 20 years old, Sofia Isella has already opened shows for Melanie Martinez as well as Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” at Wembley Stadium in London. Music has always been an integral part of her life: she began playing the violin at the age of three and started songwriting at eight. Born in Los Angeles, California, her life later took her to Taiwan, Canada, Louisiana, New Mexico, and eventually Australia, where her family settled on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Alongside the violin, she also learned piano, guitar, and singing. By the age of 15, she had already drawn attention with her own music and released her debut EP “I’m Not Yours.”

In May 2022, she released her single “Rainbow Rocket Ride,” followed by “All of Human Knowledge Made Us Dumb,” which early on showcased her sharp perspective on global issues. In 2023, her singles “Us and Pigs” and “Hot Gum” went viral on TikTok, gaining her major recognition.

A year later, her EP “I Can Be Your Mother” was released, praised by critics for its razor-sharp lyrics and eclectic influences ranging from classical music (“The Doll People”) to rock (“Sex Concept”) and pop (“Cocao and Cocaine”). Her latest single “Dog’s Dinner”, released in January 2025, blends dark atmospheres with hypnotic beats and versatile vocals into an ethereal sonic chimera between pop-rock, classical chamber music, and modern industrial influences.
