Asking Alexandria (ehemals Amongst Us) sind die erste international bekannte Metalcore-Band aus den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten. Gegründet wurde die Band durch Ben Bruce. Der Frontmann und Sänger der Band lebte 2003 in Dubai und suchte dort Gleichgesinnte und Musiker für sein Bandprojekt. Das war vor allem zu Beginn hinderlich. Frisch rekrutierte Musiker zogen bald wieder in die englische Heimat. Die Fertigstellung des Albums „The Irony Of Your Perfection“ benötigte Jahre. Nach der ersten Tour löste er daher die Band wieder auf.

Kaum wieder zurück in Großbritannien setzte der Erfolg mit neuem Line-Up aber ein. 2009 erschien das Album „Stand Up And Scream“. Damit erreichten sie auch internationale Beachtung in der Metal-Szene. Es folgten die Alben „Reckless And Relentless“ (2011), „From Death To Destiny“ (2013) und „The Black“ (2016). Ein Jahr später folgte ein weiteres, selbstbetiteltes Album “Asking Alexandria”.
