About
Aminé - Tour de Dance 2025
For all his collaborations – which have seen him work with everyone from Kaytranada to Waxahatchee – Aminé's own art is itself made up of an eclectic collage of characteristics that make him one of the most interesting names in hip house.
Portland rapper Adam Aminé Daniel released his first mixtape Odyssey To Me at the age of 20 at the beginning of 2014, followed by a fairly quick succession of EPs. In 2016 he made a breakthrough with the single 'Caroline', which would climb its way up the Billboard Hot 100 throughout the year until it peaked at No.11. In November 2016 he performed a lush, live version of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, making his TV debut and putting a face to the name.
'Caroline' would later feature on Aminé's debut album, Good For You, released in July 2017, alongside singles such as 'Heebiejeebies' and 'Wedding Crashers'. The full-length introduced the artist's playful and rhythmic take on hip hop, often smoothed with an off-kilter but accessible alternative R&B lustre. This sound was developed on the slighty more downbeat Limbo in 2020 and a year later on TWOPOINTFIVE, the bouncy and heady follow up to the 2018 mixtape ONEPOINTFIVE.
All of these releases proved Aminé's fondness for collaboration, having worked with artists such as Vince Staples, Young Thug, Kehlani and Rico Nasty. But the rapper's fullest formed partnership came in 2023 with the release of KAYTRAMINÉ, the Juno Award nominated album with Canadian producer Kaytranada. Featuring the jazzy and understated 'Rebuke', Snoop Dogg collab 'Eye' and saucy lead single '4EVA', this breezy, sample-heavy album perfectly encapsulated the vibrant and woozy hues of Malibu, where it was produced.
2025 saw Aminé return to his own solo work, releasing his third full-length album 13 Months of Sunshine in May. Featuring the Mike Skinner-sampled 'Arc De Triomphe' and disco-pop 'Sage Time', the album may be his most personal and emotionally dynamic release yet. In December 2025 Aminé heads to Germany for shows in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne as part of his Tour de Dance 2025 tour.
